Meet Maddie – the 11-year-old train designer, and Ospertunities alumna
A couple of weeks ago we started sharing Britain’s best opportunities for young people across the country. We named it Ospertunities, as these are opportunities that help young people learn, grow and become that tiny bit more awesome – a bit like Osper does, too.
We reckoned it wouldn’t be too long before we heard from our first ever Ospertunities alumni, and we reckoned right. Osper Mum Tracey and her daughter Maddie, aged 11, got in touch a few days ago. They had only just gotten back home to Suffolk from an adventure in London. So what were they doing in London then?
Well, Maddie attended the unveiling ceremony of the Virgin Christmas Trains. And why was that then?
Well, she’d designed one of them.
Yep, that’s right. Maddie, the 11-year-old superstar, is now also known as a train designer. After reading about Virgin’s design competition in the Osper newsletter she decided to give it a go. Or, in her own words – “I thought, why not?”. Quite right, Maddie. Why not.
Maddie, a big massive congrats from all us here at Osper – we hope to get the chance to go on the train (more commonly known as #claus91) before the holidays are over.
