So, the Budget for the coming year was announced last week by George Osborne, and this will mean a lot of different things for a lot of different people.
The bottom line is, that everything in that budget – whether we like it or not – is all designed to achieve ONE MAIN GOAL.
That goal is to make sure that by 2020, the government are only spending as much as they have coming in. Because unfortunately, they have been spending way more money than they have available to them for a long time now.
That means that they need to match their outgoings to their incomings – in the next four years.
You would think that this is a pretty basic principle. But you’d be surprised how easy it is to undershoot and overlook – I mean, even the government are struggling to do it!
Here at Osper, we think that this is a pretty important financial message. In fact, it is probably THE most important rule when it comes to managing your money, and it’s something that is never too early to learn.
